Brugada syndrome: Keep an eye on the electrocardiogram

Since its identification in 1992, Brugada syndrome has been the subject of intense research to identify the factors involved in the occurrence of sudden cardiac death to better target patients requiring medical care.1 This pathology is atypical in that it does not induce cardiomyopathy but leads to sudden death in the vast majority of patients who were previously completely asymptomatic since 4 of 5 patients who die of Brugada syndrome had not experienced any prior symptoms.2
