ConclusionsThese findings suggest that glycopyrronium, formoterol, and a combination of glycopyrronium, formoterol, and budesonide inhibit HCoV-229E replication partly by inhibiting receptor expression and/or endosomal function and that these drugs modulate infection-induced inflammation in the airway.

In this study, we determined the efficacy of ACTON PROLONGATUM® (AP; Ferring Pharmaceuticals) in comparison with Acthar® Gel (Mallinckrodt) and full 39 amino-acid rat ACTH molecule (Genscript) in the rodent model of IS consisting of prenatal priming with betamethasone and repeated postnatal trigger of spasms with N-methyl-d-aspartate. Treatment with these ACTH varieties was given on postnatal days (P)12, P13, and P14 in a prospective test (treatment onset on P12 AFTER induction of spasms). Two independent arms were investigated: subcutaneous (SC) and intramuscular (IM) deliveries that were evaluated separately. In ...

Objectives: The aim of the study was to identify practices of gastroenterologists screening for adrenal insufficiency (AI) and report prevalence of AI in children with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) treated with topical corticosteroids (TCS); compare serum dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) levels to morning serum cortisol (MSC) levels as screening tool for AI. Methods: A multipart study was conducted. In part 1, a survey about screening practices for AI in children with EoE on TCS was sent to gastroenterologists belonging to a PedsGI listserv and to EoE consortia. In part 2, children with EoE on TCS for ≥6 mo...

Authors: Ayyala-Somayajula D, Han H, Terrault NA Abstract Introduction: Severe alcohol-associated hepatitis (sAH) portends high morbidity and mortality and there are no effective therapies for those ineligible or unresponsive to corticosteroids. Early liver transplantation (LT), defined as transplant without a mandated period of sobriety, for sAH, is being increasingly considered as a rescue therapy.Areas covered: PubMed and manual searches were combined and last performed on October 28th 2019. Key search terms were "alcoholic hepatitis", "abstinence", "alcohol relapse", and "live...

ConclusionsThis large observational study based on claims data reliably identified subjects with COPD treated with open TT and their burden on the NHS. Moreover, it could describe the real clinical management of the open TT, before the marketing of the fixed one. These findings are useful for health policymakers in order to promote the appropriate utilization of both currently marketed and future therapies.

Conclusion: Although not statistically significant, our results suggest that anti-TNF therapy can be a valuable option for the treatment of ocular Susac syndrome and may especially be considered in those patients unresponsive to more conventional immunosuppressive treatment.

In conclusion, our study summarizes the regulatory transcription factors that drive expression of AChR+ and MuSK+ MG-associated miRNAs. Our findings of elevated miR-21-5p and miR-30e-5p expression in immune cells upon inflammatory stimulation and the suppressive effect of corticosteroids strengthens the putative role of these miRNAs in the MG autoimmune response.
