Extended VTE prophylaxis after colorectal cancer resection: A completed audit cycle
Aim: Extended Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis after elective colorectal cancer resection has been shown to reduce the incidence of VTE with no significant increase in bleeding complications. This was introduced into NICE guidelines in 2010. We aimed to audit our local compliance to these guidelines.
