Age-associated functional morphology of thyroid and its impact on vimentin/cytokeratin/VEGF. The role of nigella in refinement.

Conclusions Aging is accompanied by disruption, dilation, and irregularities of the thyroid follicles. These changes are induced by the oxidative stress. In addition, the immunoreaction of the cytoskeletal intermediate filaments (vimentin and cytokeratin) and VEGF were also increased consecutively to the oxidative stress.
