Issue Highlights

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with fine needle aspiration (FNA) is the standard diagnostic procedure for tissue sampling of solid lesions within adjacent to the GI tract. However, FNA has limitations that can eliminated if a larger tissue sample is obtained. A fine needle biopsy (FNB) device that has a reverse bevel at the needle tip may provide higher diagnostic yield with fewer needle passes.
