Multivariate analysis of genome-wide data to identify potential pleiotropic genes for five major psychiatric disorders using MetaCCA
Psychiatric disorders represent a mix of common, chronic, and complex conditions affecting populations with highly prevalence (Gaebel et al., 2015; Jeste et al., 2015; Merikangas et al., 2010). The main clinical disorders include schizophrenia (SCZ), bipolar disorder (BP), major depression (MD), autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which are characterized by perceptive and cognitive impairments resulting in abnormalities of behavior, volition, and emotion.
