Chicago Paramedics Hurt When Man Throws Brick Through Ambulance Window

A Chicago Fire Department spokesman told reporters that the medics were transported but that neither was seriously hurt. The ambulance will be repaired and returned to service, but no suspects had been apprehended in the attack. These attacks underscore the unpredictable nature of emergency response, in which EMS workers and firefighters may become targets of aggressors. Just of late, an Oceanside (CA) firefighter escaped injury in a knife attack, while a Long Beach (CA) fire captain was killed in an ambush shooting at a nursing home.
