Hollywood star Michael Sheen surprises the first person born in the NHS

At one minute past midnight on 5 July 1948, Aneira Thomas was born. She wasn’t just any new baby, she was the first baby to be born in the NHS. Aneira would be forever linked to the NHS. She grew up to work for the organisation itself as a mental health nurse, and to be a member of the organisation that is fighting to protect it – UNISON.   Aneira is a passionate defender of the NHS, and she’s also a huge fan of fellow Welshperson Michael Sheen. So as a 70th birthday present for her, UNISON set up a surprise meeting with her favourite actor. Watch the film above to see how the two got along.   The article Hollywood star Michael Sheen surprises the first person born in the NHS first appeared on the UNISON National site.
