Hello, Any advice would be appreciated. I was considering 2 different specialties starting off in 4th year. I gathered letters for both individually and I planned on getting a generic letter to fill in gaps. When it was all said and done, I ended up with 2 letters for anesthesiology and 1 for IM specifically and the general letter fell through. I already submitted my app with the 3 letters to have a completed app hoping that it would be apparent that I switched to anesthesiology as... Letters from Mult. Specialities

Authors: De Jong A, Verzilli D, Chanques G, Futier E, Jaber S Abstract The obese patient is at an increased risk of perioperative complications. Most importantly, these include difficult access to the airways (intubation, difficult or impossible ventilation), and post-extubation respiratory distress secondary to the development of atelectasis or obstruction of the airways, sometimes associated with the use of morphine derivatives. The association of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA) with obesity is very common, and induces a high risk of peri- and postoperative complications. Preoperative OSA screening is cruc...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential analgesic action of 8% capsaicin cream for topical use in patients with myofascial pain syndrome. METHODS: Initially, cream formulations of PLA (Placebo) and CPS (Capsaicin 8%) were developed and approved according to the current requirements of the health authority agency. The 40 participating patients were randomly assigned to the PLA and CPS groups in a double-blind fashion. Before the creams were topically administered, according to the allocation group, the local anesthetic was used for a period of 50minutes directly in the area of interest. The cream was a...
