Moffitt licensing deal could provide new approach for some cancer patients

Moffitt Cancer Center and MultiVir Inc., a Houston-based immune oncology company, have agreed to work together to develop a personalized cancer vaccine. The therapeutic vaccine, made up of a patient’s own cells, would activate cancer-fighting immune cells to target a genetic mutation found in nearly 50 percent of all cancers, Moffitt said in a press release.
