2387 - Persistent Patterns of Discriminatory Housing Policy and Inequity: A Spatial Analysis

ConclusionsThe overarching goal of this work was to quantify the extent to which historical decisions have affected inequality. This vastly improves on the anecdotal evidence to date, and we find that while redlining continues to affect some variables, that relationship is not clear for others. Understanding whether this negative relationship is systemic across US cities is an important step toward righting the wrongs of racial discrimination formalized by housing and lending institutions.
