Study on the stability control strategy of Triphala solution based on the balance of physical stability and chemical stabilities

However, its solution is unstable for the containing of excessive polyphenol, leading to the production of sediment in the short term and the decrease of efficacy. Based on the analysis of sediment formation, a novel control strategy is proposed. To conduct the analysis, the sediment formation was recorded for a consecutive five days. The changes in the composition of the supernatant and the sediment were studied by the HPLC profile analysis. The main components of the sediment were identified as corilagin, ellagic acid and gallic acid, and the amount of ellagic acid sediment increased with the storage time. Then, with a series of pH status adjustments of the Triphala solution, the physical and chemical stabilities were acquired by Turbiscan and HPLC respectively. The results showed that as the pH value increased, so did the physical stability, but the particle size and TSI of the association decreased. While the fingerprint of chemical profile similarity decreased, so did the chemical stability. Combining physical and chemical stability parameters, an equilibrium point was found out. When the pH value ...

Authors: Pavlic A, Perissinotto F, Turco G, Contardo L, Stjepan S Abstract PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to explore the surface roughness and hardness of the implant head of orthodontic mini-implants made from different alloys before and after their in vitro exposure to agents for prevention of gingivitis, mucositis, and peri-implantitis: chlorhexidine and probiotics. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Three types of commercially available mini-implants were tested: 316 stainless steel, titanium Grade 5, and titanium Grade 23 (both Ti-6Al-4V alloys with the same atomic weight percentage of Ti, Al, and V, with the diff...

This study aimed to compare the thickness and elasticity of the masseter muscle between patients with gingivitis and patients with periodontitis. A total of 124 patients (63 gingivitis, 61 chronic periodontitis) were recruited at the start of the study, but only 84 patients were declared as final participants. Patients were divided into two groups: (1) patients suffering from gingivitis and (2) those with generalized chronic periodontitis. Clinical (PI, plaque index; GI, gingival index; PD, probing depth; CAL, clinical attachment loss; and BOP, bleeding on probing scores) and ultrasonographic (thickness and elasticity of t...

til D Abstract Pregnancy is a particularly risky moment for periodontal and oral healthcare. The main diseases encountered are the development or worsening of carious lesions and gestational periodontal diseases such as gingivitis, epulis or gestational periodontitis. There is a lack of knowledge from health professionals and their patients, firstly on the link between poor oral hygiene and the impact on pregnancy, and secondly on the feasibility of oral care during pregnancy. There is a link between periodontal diseases and the increase of premature delivery risk, child with low birth weight and pre-eclampsia. Pe...

ann-Lehmann Feline calicivirus (FCV) can cause painful oral ulcerations, salivation, gingivitis/stomatitis, fever and depression in infected cats; highly virulent virus variants can lead to fatal epizootic outbreaks. Viral transmission occurs directly or indirectly via fomites. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence and viability of FCV in the environment after sequential oronasal infections of specified pathogen-free cats with two FCV field strains in a research facility. Replicating virus was detected in saliva swabs from all ten cats after the first and in four out of ten cats after the second FCV exp...

Authors: Mombelli A, Walter C Abstract These guidelines address the administration of systemic antibiotics in periodontics, especially in the treatment of periodontitis, necrotizing gingivitis/periodontitis, periodontal abscess and periimplantitis. Microorganisms associated with these conditions aggregate as structured biofilms on tooth surfaces, and biofilms effectively protect microorganisms from antibiotics. It is therefore a central principle to use antibiotics only as adjunct to mechanical debridement. In fact, many cases can be resolved by mechanical therapy even without the pres...
