Local venture funding plunged big time last quarter. But it's not all bad news.
Venture funding for Greater Washington companies fell nearly 50 percent in the second quarter from a year ago, but the region's take for the first half of the year remains above last year.
The region's VC haul totaled $237.27 million across 50 companies, compared with $432.23 million across 54 companies a year ago, according to the PitchBook-NVCA Venture Monitor. The 2017 second quarter total included $190 million for D.C. education firm EverFi.
