Denver hospital suspends organ-transplant program

One of just four transplant programs in the Rocky Mountain region is putting a temporary stop to all transplant procedures in order to upgrade and rebuild the program. Porter Adventist Hospital officials did not give a time-frame for re-starting their 30-year-old program in announcing Tuesday that all kidney, pancreas and liver transplants will halt during a reassessment of the initiative.
