About acute coronary syndromes and obesity. Small lessons from RESCUE
In previous number, Tojek et al. [1], referred to obesity and in-hospital mortality. Indeed, obesity has reached epidemic proportions and their prevalence is increasing. Truly too, in the case of acute coronary disease, some studies [2 –5] have shown a better prognosis in obese patients, suggesting that Body Mass Index BMI can be associated with better prognosis, although, due to the complexities of this phenomenon, this relationship is controversial (see Tables 1 and 2).
