Exercise in Cirrhosis: Translating evidence and experience to practice
In accordance with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) guidelines for the management of persons with chronic diseases and disabilities[1 –5], exercise training is a key recommendation for all patients with chronic disease. The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases in its online teaching resource recommends personalized exercise interventions for patients with cirrhosis[6]. The American Society for Transplantation has recommended a robust clinical research agenda for exercise interventions in patients in need of solid organ transplantation[7].
