Population Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics Modeling of Oral Levofloxacin.

Conclusion: The population PKs of levofloxacin in the present study were similar to the values obtained from the previous study. Both 500 mg qd and 750 mg qd of oral levofloxacin dosage regimens had a high probability of achieving optimal impact against S. pneumoniae, but only the 750 mg qd dosage regimen achieved optimal exposure against Klebsiella spp. PMID: 29947489 [PubMed - in process]

To screen for an affibody targeting the immune checkpoint PD-L1, a combinatorial affibody library was generated in yeast using degenerate overlap PCR primers and In-fusion technology. Z-j1 and Z-j2 affibodies targeting the Ig-li...

Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) is a ubiquitous enzyme found in all known groups of organisms, acting in the reversible conversion of oxaloacetate (OAA) to phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) in the presence of divalent metal ion, and dependent of adenosine 5 ’ -triphosphate (ATP) or guanosine-5 ’ -triphosphate (GTP). PEPCK is an important enzyme in the metabolism of some organisms, such as Trypanosoma cruzi, being suggested as a potential drug target to treat Chagas ’ disease. Its catalytic activity is, classically, measured by coupled assays. Herein, a direct assay by liquid chromatography-tandem mass s...

In this study, Escherichia coli DH5alpha whole transcriptome sequencing was performed in order to compare the different gene expression profiles between control and exposed to Wi-Fi radiofrequency radiations. Methods:Escherichia coli DH5alpha were exposed to Wi-Fi radiations. Total RNA samples( control and exposed ) were extracted by bacteria protect-Rneasy kit, treated with DNAase and subjected to sequnecing using an Illumina-NovaSeq 6000 platform. Library preparation and sequencing were performed by Macrogen (south korea).Trimmed reads are mapped to reference genome with Bowtie. HTseq was used for expression profiling. Exp...

Here we developed a smart nanomaterial formed by a photoresponsive nanogel containing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) immobilized on the surface of biodegradable polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofibers mats produced by electrospinning. The silver nanoparticles (AgNps) are released from the nanogel and dispersed inside the n...

The evolution in surface modification of surgical instruments can be a potential choice to overcome the nosocomial infection mainly caused by bacterial populations such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli. A study was, therefore, conducte...

In this study, for developing a scaffold for tissue engineering from fish processing wastes, a hierachial collagen/gelatin/chitosan novel porous scaffold was fabricated using blends of collagen and gelatin extracted from the skins of Marine big eye snapper Priacanthus humrur. Scaffolds were developed by mechanical spinning of chitosan and by mixing of collagen and gelatin solutions followed by freeze drying and subsequent crosslinking of polymers. The scaffolds were evaluated for rheological properties – porosity, apparent density and swelling capacity to assess their mechanical property.Gelatin/chitosan composition ...

UropathogenicEscherichia coli (UPEC) is the major causative agent of uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs). A common virulence genotype of UPEC strains responsible for UTIs is yet to be defined, due to the large variation of virulence factors observed in UPEC strains. We hypothesized that studying UPEC functional responses in patients might reveal universal UPEC features that enable pathogenesis. Here we identify a transcriptional program shared by genetically diverse UPEC strains isolated from 14 patients during uncomplicated UTIs. Strikingly, this in vivo gene expression program is marked by upregulation of trans...
