Southern Research, GeneCapture project earns $1 million funding contract
The Department of Defense has awarded a $1 million, two-year contract to a project involving two Alabama companies to develop a portable device that soldiers and people in conflict zones can use to identify disease-causing germs.
The funds came from the Small Business Technology Transfer Research contract, a part of the DOD’s Joint Science and Technology Office for Chemical and Biological Defense and head to Huntsville's Huntsville’s GeneCapture and Birmingham's Southern Research.
