Ethics Rounds: Whole Exome Sequencing in the Clinical Setting: Implications for Research

Ethics Rounds “Whole Exome Sequencing in the Clinical Setting: Implications for Research” The use of whole exome sequencing in the clinical setting has the potential to significantly increase the amount of information available to patients. When this information conflicts with information obtained in the research setting, investigators are faced with the question of whether they should pursue follow-up testing. Please join us to discuss to what extent researchers are responsible for their subjects’ clinical care and to what extent researchers should conduct testing for clinical purposes The program should be of interest to individuals involved in medical research, as well as those interested in important issues in bioethics.
