Antim üllerian hormone (AMH) is a glycoprotein secreted primarily by the granulosa cells of preantral and early antral follicles, although it is secreted by granulosa cells of any follicle that has developed beyond the primordial follicle stage. Despite the precise function of AMH in female reproduction being uncertain, several lines of evidence point to AMH acting as a brake on follicular recruitment and development, with AMH antagonizing several of the biochemical aspects of FSH vis-à-vis effects on granulosa cells.
