Definition Development and Prevalence of New Persistent Opioid Use Following Hysterectomy

Opioids used for postoperative pain control after surgery have been associated with an increased risk of chronic opioid use. Hysterectomy is the most common major gynecologic procedure in the United States; however, we lack a data-driven definition of new persistent opioid use specific to hysterectomy.
