This study investigated the anti-allergic effect of Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf. (PT) on human keratinocytic HaCaT cells in vitro and on 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB)-induced atopic dermatitis-like lesions in vivo. The release of TARC, MCP-1, IL-6 and IL-8 is increased by IFN-γ and TNF-α in HaCaT cells, and PT extract suppressed the increased production of TARC, MCP-1, IL-6, and IL-8. PT extract recovered the expression of filaggrin decreased by IFN-γ and TNF-α. in vivo experiment, PT administration decreased the skin severity score, thickening of the epidermis, movement of inflammatory cells int...

Abstract Orf, also called contagious ecthyma or contagious pustular dermatitis, is a significant zoonotic disease that primarily affects goat and sheep globally. Currently, the infection by orf virus (ORFV) has been observed in different host species worldwide, including China. Here, a suspected outbreak of orf infection in a goat farm in Anhui Province in 2018 was investigated. Through PCR, electron microscopy, and cell culture techniques, we confirmed that the outbreak was caused by ORFV. Consequently, the orf virus strain was named the AH/LA/2018 strain. The amplified and sequenced ORFV011 (B2L) and ORFV059 (F1...

Authors: Mahler V, Dickel H Abstract The head and hands are the two most common locations for allergic contact dermatitis manifestation. In hand eczema, contact with a contact allergen is a frequent (co-)factor in the triggering and maintenance of eczema. For all hand eczemas lasting longer than 3 months, an allergological examination by means of patch testing is recommended. In patients with allergic contact dermatitis of the hands, nickel, MCI/MI, fragrance mix I, cobalt, thiuram mix, Balsam of Peru, chromium and fragrance mix II have been described in a multicenter European study as...
