ConclusionAIS patients showed more slender spines than the asymptomatic population. Analysis of wedging suggests that lower junctional discs and apex vertebra could be locations of mechanical instability. Numerical simulation and longitudinal clinical follow-up of patients could clarify the impact of wedging, slenderness and growth on the biomechanics of scoliosis progression.Graphic abstractThese slides can be retrieved under Electronic Supplementary Material.

CONCLUSIONS: Cumulative radiation dose during scoliosis treatment varies substantially depending on radiographic follow-up protocol, intraoperative and ancillary imaging. By using low-dose X-ray systems in combination with a low-dose protocol for intraoperative navigation, it is possible to keep exposure to patients at a minimum while still providing optimal care. We report a patient with a pathogenic de novo SCN4A variant, c.2386C>G p.L769V at a highly conserved leucine. The phenotype was manifest at birth with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, severe episodes of bronchospasm that responded immediately to carbamazepine therapy, and electromyographic evidence of widespread myotonia. The objective of this study is to assess APF of adolescents with AIS during balance control in upright standing posture using electroencephalography (EEG). EEG was recorded in 16 girls with AIS and 15 control girls in normal standing posture on a force platform. The participants stood upright for 2 minutes with eyes open and 2 minutes with eyes closed. ConclusionInter-rater reliability for 3 raters, evaluating 177 disc levels, was found to be overall acceptable for 6 out of 8 degenerative MRI-findings in the lumbar spine. Ratings of facet joint degeneration and disc contour achieved moderate reliability and was considered unacceptable.
