New Organ Representation Areas Localized Between Front & Back of the Human Neck and Body Their Potential Application to Metameric Acupuncture.

New Organ Representation Areas Localized Between Front &Back of the Human Neck and Body Their Potential Application to Metameric Acupuncture. Acupunct Electrother Res. 2016;41(3-4):199-205 Authors: Bredikhin AV, Bredikhin KA, Chekha OA Abstract The article presents literature data and our own research on metameric acupuncture theory projection zones of visceral organs (Hirata area), interrelation of endocrine glands and vertebra (in Pak Jae Woo), internal organs and interspinous spacing ("Chzhud Chi"). By the method of molecular and tissue identification (Y. Omura) we have isolated areas of the endocrine glands and internal organs, their key points allowing to use metameric acupuncture in order to improve the diagnostic and therapeutic process. A causal relationship is reasonably expected but, so far, it has not been demonstrated. Traditional Chinese medicine indicates that acupuncture can promote specific blood perfusion in specific body districts. Ninety-eight patients with open-angle glaucoma were treated with an ultralow light–level laser, according to a specific acupuncture protocol, and their blood flow was measured b...

Authors: Li S, Xie P, Liang Z, Huang W, Huang Z, Ou J, Lin Z, Chai S Abstract The principal objective of this present study was to compare the effects of different acupuncture methods on pain, stiffness, and physical function for osteoarthritis of the knee by the pairwise and network meta-analysis (NMA). A network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was searched from three English databases and one Chinese database until January 2018. A pairwise meta-analysis was performed with a random effects model. Then we carried out the NMA within a Bayesian framework. Mean difference (MD) and its 95% confiden...

Authors: Kim BJ, Kuo B Abstract Gastroparesis and functional dyspepsia are 2 of the most common gastric neuromuscular disorders. These disorders are usually confused, having both similarities and differences. The pathophysiology of these disorders involves abnormal gastric motility, visceral hypersensitivity, mucosal inflammation, and various cellular changes. Both disorders have similar symptoms such as epigastric pain or discomfort, early satiety, and bloating. If patients suspected of having either gastroparesis or functional dyspepsia present with upper gastrointestinal symptoms, they should undergo upper endos...

Semin Neurol 2018; 38: 644-653 DOI: 10.1055/s-0038-1673679Neuropathic pain management is challenging, and typically requires a multifaceted approach. There are several treatment options, both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic. Of the available pharmacologic agents, those with the strongest supporting evidence include tricyclic antidepressants, serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, and certain antiseizure agents. There is emerging evidence for the use of cannabinoids, but conclusive studies are not available. Nonpharmacologic therapies that have been utilized in the management of neuropathic pain include acup...
