Mid-level practitioners intention to prescribe acetaminophen with codeine
Objective: The study examined Texas midlevel prescribers (i.e., nurse practitioners [NPs] and physician assistants [PAs]) intention to prescribe acetaminophen with codeine. Acetaminophen with codeine was hypothesized to be the most likely substitute for hydrocodone combination products (HCPs) among midlevel prescribers considering that most do not have schedule II prescriptive authority in Texas.
