Long-Term Effects of Omitting Antibiotics in Uncomplicated Acute Diverticulitis

This research article finds that in patients with a first episode of uncomplicated acute diverticulitis (n=528), omitting antibiotics was not associated with a higher incidence of complicated diverticulitis, recurrent diverticulitis or sigmoid resection compared with antibiotic treatment, at 24 months ' follow up
