The neurobiological etiopathology of schizophrenia and related psychoses has endured as the main paradigm despite the evolution of their core clinical features over the past century. Schizophrenia is conceptualized as a syndrome characterized by positive, negative, cognitive and affective domains, while several other pathological domains are generally neglected.
