Serum decorin level and preterm births

In this February issue of the Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics& Gynecology, we found an interesting article entitled “Serum decorin measurement in prediction of the risk for preterm birth”, which attempted to use the serum markers to predict the risk of preterm birth [1]. As we know, preterm births, defined as the occurrence of delivery before 37 full gestational weeks, can be further classified into late pret erm births when born 34–36 weeks of gestation and early preterm births when born before 34 weeks of gestation [2–5].
