The Values of Myocardial Perfusion SPECT Imaging in Evaluating Efficacy of Acupuncture Therapy at Neiguan (PC6) and Xinshu (BL15) in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease

Conclusions:Acupuncture could obtain the same therapeutic effects as nitroglycerine. Both of them increased the blood perfusion of ischemic myocardium and recovery the function of ischemic myocardial cells. Nevertheless, acupuncture has no side reaction as nitroglycerine. Furthermore, acupuncture might be conducive to reduce the intake of nitroglycerine. Applying SPECT could clearly indicate therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture on CHD, thus providing a new quantifiable and visible research method for CHD studies.
