Review of Postvention in action: The international handbook of suicide bereavement support.

Reviews the book Postvention in Action: The International Handbook of Suicide Bereavement Support edited by Karl Andriessen, Karolina Krysinska, and Onja T. Grad (see record 2017-19566-000). Given estimates of the number of survivors annually who are intimately and deeply affected by the suicide of a loved one and documents on the mental and public health impacts of such an experience, this collection of chapters and their summarization of what is known and being done to minimize long-term negative outcomes is a timely and welcome reference to all that has been learned about postvention in the last half-century and a reference point for the years ahead.
