112 “band and leave” strategy: a case series comparison of banding vs. endoscopic resection for management of small duodenal carcinoid

Duodenal carcinoid is a rare entity, comprising ∼ 2% of small intestinal carcinoid. While the majority have an indolent course, resection is recommended due to risk of nodal involvement and metastasis. No clear consensus exists on management of sub-centimeter duodenal carcinoid. While surgical resection was the mainstay of therapy prior to endo scopy, for small mucosal and submucosal carcinoid endoscopic resection and banding are two available treatment modalities. Here we compare the efficacy and safety of duodenal carcinoid eradication via endoscopic banding vs.
