649 eus-fna peri-procedure adverse events are not higher in the elderly: results from the national endoscopic database

Multiple studies have reported the safety of esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, double balloon and ERCP in elderly patients. There has been an increased use of endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) in very elderly patients, yet the safety profile of this procedure has not been well-established.
