919 inhibitory effect of lidocaine on colonic spasm during colonoscopy: a multicenter double-blind, randomized controlled trial
Colonic spasm occasionally interferes with diagnostic/therapeutic colonoscopy, but antispasmodic agents can cause complications. Our previous clinical trial demonstrated that topical lidocaine suppresses intestinal spasm during colonoscopy, but failed to show a statistically significant difference. To clarify the inhibitory effect of lidocaine on colonic spasm, we conducted a multicenter, double-blind, randomized clinical trial.
