Su1284 COMPARISON OF OUTCOMES OF SINGLE VERSUS DOUBLE BALLOON ENTEROSCOPY: A LARGE TERTIARY CENTER EXPERIENCE

Deep balloon enteroscopy is used to examine the portion of small bowel where conventional upper endoscopy or colonoscopy cannot provide consistent visualization. Double balloon enteroscopy (DBE) applies push and pull technique with insufflation and deflation of tandem balloons in order to advance the scope whereas single balloon enteroscopy (SBE) utilizes only one balloon. Studies comparing the outcomes and safety of these distinct approaches are limited. We sought to compare the performance and safety between the two techniques.
