Mo1084 ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASOUND-GUIDED FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION VS. A MUCOSAL INCISION-ASSISTED BIOPSY FOR GASTRIC SUBMUCOSAL TUMORS: A RANDOMIZED COMPARATIVE STUDY
Gastric submucosal tumors (SMTs) suspected of being gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are sometimes incidentally found during esophagogastroduodenoscopy. It is important to differentiate potentially malignant GISTs from other benign tumors pathologically. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) has been a gold standard method for obtaining samples for a pathological diagnosis for SMTs, and a mucosal incision-assisted biopsy (MIAB) has been suggested to be useful for sampling gastric GISTs with an intraluminal growth pattern.
