Tu1089 ESOPHAGEAL FOOD BOLUS IMPACTION: ADVERSE EVENTS WITH OVERTUBE USE, FORCEPS BIOPSY AND ESOPHAGEAL DILATION
Esophageal food impaction (EFI) is an emergency, requiring esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) if spontaneous resolution does not occur. However, there is no consensus if all patients should have endotracheal intubation prior to EGD, and the safety of interventions like overtube use, biopsy or dilation is poorly described in literature. We aim to evaluate adverse events (AE) after overtube placement, forceps biopsy and dilation in patients undergoing EGD for EFI.
