Uncommon pediatric stroke caused by MCA dissection presenting as initial loss of consciousness

Childhood stroke is rare, and its reported incidence rate is 1.3 –1.6 per 100,000 children per year. In children and young adults, the most common etiologies and risk factors include congenital and acquired cardiac abnormalities, vasculopathies, hematological abnormalities, metabolic disorders, infections, head and neck trauma, illicit drug ingestion, and genet ic conditions.1 Herein, we report the case of a young patient with middle cerebral artery (MCA) dissection (MCAD) stroke, who first presented with seizure and loss of consciousness without aura.
