Current Concepts in Iodinated Contrast Induced Acute Kidney Injury
Iodinated contrast agents administered during computed tomography (CT) studies have the potential to cause post-contrast acute kidney injury (AKI). Prior to CT scans, in certain populations, assessment of the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is required to identify patients at risk for adverse events after contrast administration.
