MHC-B haplotypes impact susceptibility and resistance to RSV-A infection.

MHC-B haplotypes impact susceptibility and resistance to RSV-A infection. Front Biosci (Elite Ed). 2018 Jun 01;10:506-519 Authors: Khare VM, Saxena VK, Tomar A, Singh KP, Singh KB, Tiwari AK Abstract We investigated the impact of haplotype of major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-B on the outcome of infection of Synthetic Dam Line (SDL) broiler strain with Rous Sarcoma Virus (RSV). Genomic analysis of MHC-B haplotypes, revealed a total of 12 known standard haplotypes that constituted to twenty-five different genotypes and one new haplotype of 217 bp size, designated BX. The inoculation of RSV-A in SDL chicks resulted in the development of tumors of progressive or regressive phenotypes with varying tumor profile index (TPI). Haplotypes B2, B21 and B22had low TPI scores (1 or 2) with less mortality and were resistant to RSV-A tumor. The haplotypes B13, B13.1., B15, B15.1. and B15.2. had significantly higher TPI scores (5 or 6), indicating a susceptibility to RSV-A. The genotype, Bx /Bx, had a mean TPI score of 3.67 ± 1.33, which was closer to the resistant haplotype. Sequence analysis of the new haplotype (BX) revealed 99.5% similarity with B2 haplotype. Metastases was observed in 44% of chicks and ...

Conclusion: Despite promising preclinical rationale and tolerability of the combination therapy, no responses were observed, and the study did not meet parameters for further evaluation in MPNSTs. This trial was registered with (NCT02008877). PMID: 32089640 [PubMed]

Authors: Ubah OC, Porter AJ, Barelle CJ Abstract Anti-drug antibodies (ADAs), specific for biotherapeutic drugs, are associated with reduced serum drug levels and compromised therapeutic response. The impact of ADA on the bioavailability and clinical efficacy of blockbuster anti-hTNF-α monoclonal antibodies is well recognised, especially for adalimumab and infliximab treatments, with the large and complex molecular architecture of classical immunoglobulin antibody drugs, in part, responsible for the immunogenicity seen in patients. The initial aim of this study was to develop solid-phase enzyme-linked immunos...

Conclusion Both apatinib and anlotinib were effective for the treatment of sarcomas. However, the effectiveness of the two drugs and associated AEs varied based on the histological type of sarcoma. These differences may be due to their different sensitivities to targets such as RET, warranting further study.

Being the second most common type of primary bone malignancy in children and adolescents, Ewing Sarcoma (ES) encounters the dilemma of low survival rate with a lack of effective treatments. As an emerging approach to combat cancer, RNA therapeutics may expand the range of druggable targets. Since the genome-derived oncolytic microRNA-34a (miR-34a) is down-regulated in ES, restoration of miR-34a-5p expression or function represents a new therapeutic strategy which is, however, limited to the use of chemically-engineered miRNA mimics. Very recently we have developed a novel bioengineering technology using a stable non-coding...

ConclusionsComplete resection is vital for local control in pancreatic metastasis of UPS. Sites of recurrence are rare; hence, patients must be carefully followed up.

ConclusionThe role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in the treatment of angiosarcoma should be reconsidered considering its ability to provide important prognostic information and improve the likelihood of curative surgery.

Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) represent 15% of all canine tumors (benign and malignant) of the skin and subcutaneous tissue and are the second most common malignant tumor of the skin and subcutis. The term STS encompasses a histologically heterogenous but clinically similar group of tumor types, including fibrosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, peripheral nerve sheath tumor (PNST), liposarcoma, and myxosarcoma.
