Concurrence of symmetrical peripheral gangrene and venous limb gangrene following polytrauma: a case report

ConclusionsConcurrence of unilateral lower limb deep vein thrombosis in a typical clinical setting of symmetrical peripheral gangrene is a potential explanation for greater extent of acral ischemic injury in the limb affected by deep vein thrombosis.

Authors: Zhao N, Xiang Q, Liu Z, Zhao X, Cui Y Abstract INTRODUCTION: There remains an unmet need for better anticoagulants. The phase I clinical trial is of great significance in the development of anticoagulants, and the design is special. This system review aims to provide insights for the design of future phase I clinical trials of anticoagulants. AREAS COVERED: We searched the database PubMed and ClinicalTrail.gov website, to collate the phase I clinical trial of anticoagulants in healthy people. The study protocol, inclusion exclusion criteria, safety and pharmacodynamic indexes were reviewed. EXPERT ...

This study therefore investigated the impacts of RRCC on air pollution based on detailed household heating data obtained from intensive face-to-face interviews in Shandong province, China. The total contributions and specific contributions of coal, stoves, and coal-stove combinations to air pollution were simulated using the WRF-CAMx-PSAT model. The RRCC for heating had a considerable impact on air pollution, contributing 36.1, 9.1, and 16.1% of atmospheric SO2, NOx, and PM2.5 in winter, respectively. Different coal-stove combinations had different impacts on air pollution and mitigation efficiencies. The combination of bi...

Abstract Limited studies focus on the occurrence, removal rate and seasonal variation of substituted diphenylamine antioxidants (SDPAs) in surface water and wastewater in China. In this paper, the detection method of SDPAs was established by the ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Daily variations suggested that significant variations were found for the concentrations of some SDPAs in the influent. It was found that the SDPAs could be detected in all the effluent samples and C8/C8-DPA was the predominant compound in two WWTPs. The levels of most SDPAs in the effluent were much lower t...

AbstractPurposeTo investigate the efficacy and safety of bencycloquidium bromide nasal spray (BCQB) in patients with persistent allergic rhinitis (PAR).MethodsWe enrolled 720 patients from 15 hospitals across China and randomly assigned them into BCQB group or placebo group (90  μg per nostril qid) to receive a 4-week treatment. Visual analog scale (VAS) for rhinorrhea, sneezing, nasal congestion, itching and overall symptoms were recorded by patients every day. Anterior rhinoscopy scoring was completed by doctors on every visit. Adverse events were recorded in detail.ResultsA total of 354 and 351 patients were inc...

Authors: Fentie K, Wakayo T, Gizaw G Abstract Background: Anemia defined as a low blood hemoglobin concentration is public health importance. The adolescence age group is the most neglected in public health and nutrition research as priorities are usually given to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and their children less than 2 years. Current Ethiopian Food and Nutrition policy included adolescent girls in the most at-risk group for nutritional demands; however, only a few published studies have assessed a deficiency of anemia and associated factors to tackle the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition.
