KC seniors land $25,000 scholarships for Parkinson's research, filmmaking

Two Kansas City graduating seniors landed $25,000 scholarships from the Taco Bell Foundation. Erin Smith, who created a tool to diagnose Parkinson's disease early, and Jesse Payne, who started his own production company, each received the top award for the Live M ás Scholarship. Smith, a senior at Shawnee Mission West High School, was honored for her work when she won the International BioGENEius Challenge last year.
