Diabetes and aortic root dimension: A controversial subject
We are grateful to you for the interest in our work and we appreciate the opportunity to comment some issues raised in your letter, a part of which have been already addressed in the discussion section of our article.
DIABETES type 2 symptoms are triggered when there are problems with blood sugar levels. This is because of problems with the hormone insulin, which affects cells ’ ability to take in sugar. It is possible to develop ‘borderline’ diabetes, or pre diabetes, before the condition. Watch out for these symptoms.

Conclusion: Overall, the results of this study suggested the potential beneficial effects of the extract mixture for use as complementary medicine alongside conventional treatment of metformin. The extract mixture contained many highly potent compounds for treating T2DM and preventing short- and long-term risk complications of diabetes.Graphical abstract
Substantial data during the last three decades has focused on lipid intervention for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis and, more importantly, on the primary and secondary prevention of major cardiovascular disease (CVD) events, including coronary heart disease (CHD) and stroke . Certainly, the majority of the attention during recent decades has been directed at lowering the levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), although some studies have also directed attention at lowering levels of triglycerides (TGs) and/or raising levels of the cardio-protective high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).
We read with great interest the paper by Moretti et al. published in IJC in April 1, 2018. They included 107 remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) treated patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) [stable 50, acute coronary syndrome (ACS) 57] and 116 sham controls (stable 62, ACS 54) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Based on the subgroup analysis of diabetes status, they arbitrarily concluded that the contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) prevention by RIPC may be more pronounced in the non-diabetes group than in diabetes group.
Atrial fibrillation is a common cause of stroke, and diabetes increases stroke risk. Stroke risk may vary depending on the type of diabetes. We investigated whether type 1 and type 2 diabetes are associated with different risks of thromboembolism among patients with atrial fibrillation.
This study aimed to assess rate of LDL-cholesterol target attainment among patients with diabetes at very-high cardiovascular risk treated with statins, and to identify predictive factors of non-attainment of target in this population.
This study enrolled 1875 subjects with normal glucose tolerance (age range: 20–78 years). VFA was assessed with magnetic resonance imaging.ResultsThe study population consisted of 1573 subjects without a FHD, 115 subjects with a paternal FHD, and 187 subjects with a maternal FHD. For both genders, VFA was greater in offspring with a maternal FHD compared with those without a FHD (both P

GurzovAbstractDiabetes is a metabolic disorder affecting more than 400 million individuals and their families worldwide. The major forms of diabetes (type 1 and 2) are characterized by pancreatic β-cell dysfunction and, in some cases, loss of β-cell mass causing hyperglycemia due to absolute or relative insulin deficiency. The BCL-2 homology 3 (BH3)-only protein BIM has a wide role in apoptosis induction in cells. In this review, we describe the apoptotic mechanisms mediated by BI...
DIABETES type 1 sufferers need to measure their blood sugar regularly to help maintain levels. This means they avoid them falling too low or becoming too high, which can lead to complications. Check blood sugar levels at these six times.
