Introduction: Kidney Disease and Cardiovascular Disease

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a worldwide public health problem, and CKD is associated with very high morbidity and mortality. Cardiovascular disease in CKD is important because cardiovascular disease determines quality of life and the prognosis of CKD patients and can be either a cause or a consequence of CKD.
