To have the op or not – Geri’s Story

Sourced from The Hysterectomy Association: Hysterectomy Association - Hysterectomy Association - hysterectomy, menopause and hormone replacement therapy (hrt) information and support for women. I’m due to have a hysterectomy in 2 months time but really unsure what to do. I’ve had the cin1 strain, which then went up to cin2. I have had three treatments done but now being told although no cells are present I have viral changes. Because of previous treatments I have no cervix wall left to do anymore treatment if next smear is abnormal. The doctor says my problem could be further up inside cervix which cannot be seen with colposcopy. They then offered me two options; one to come back in six months and have smear done again if it comes back abnormal I will have to have a hysterectomy. Or I have hysterectomy now. This has really confused me on what to do? I am 47 and live alone, have no man in my life, scared of the operation and the recovery process, and the time off work. *************************************************************** Now available on our online store and all other online book store’s.
