Governor vetoes bill that would have benefited new Franklin cancer center

Gov. Bill Haslam has vetoed a bill that would have aided a cancer treatment center being constructed in Middle Tennessee. The bill, which passed the House by a vote of 82-13 and by a 29-1 vote in the Senate, would have required insurance coverage of proton cancer therapy for state employees. The veto comes as the construction of a $100 million cancer-treatment center by Provision CARES Proton Therapy nears completio n in Franklin. ConclusionIn conclusion, this study illustrates that the application and benefits of HS on reducing GI rectal dose endpoints and toxicities during prostate cancer RT can be reliably replicated in a community setting similar to centres participating in the randomised trial under high quality assurance trial monitoring.
