Why living in a community can be good for your health

One in three Americans is now 50 or older — by 2030, one in five will be 65+. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of people age 85 and older will increase from about 14 percent of the 65+ population today, to 21 percent in 2050. Studies show that adults who live alone are more prone to social isolation and are less likely to receive help with their functional limitations.
