Length during early childhood and later development of non-affective psychotic disorder

The neurodevelopmental hypothesis of schizophrenia suggests schizophrenia to be partly understood as a consequence of early disruption in the nervous system (Owen et al., 2011). Further, the first three years of life is an important period in human development during which a substantial part of length progress and development of the central nervous system takes place (Thompson, 2001; Cooke et al., 2011). To our knowledge only one study (Perrin et al., 2007) has examined length development at repeated times during the first years of life in relation to psychosis.
