Prevalence of Anxiety in Patients With Mild Cognitive Impairment: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Neuropsychiatric disorder is common in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) (Monastero  et al., 2009) and elevated compared with the general population (Geda et al., 2008; Lyketsos et al., 2002). Besides, neuropsychiatric disorder is associated with anxiety (Mak et al., 2011), cerebral volume reduction (Mak et al., 2016) and cognitive impairment (Tay et al., 2015). Currently , research on neuropsychiatric disturbances in MCI has predominantly focused on depression, less is well known about the role of anxiety in MCI.
