TERRAs, the non-coding RNAs that protect telomeres, are important epigenetic regulators

(Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncol ó gicas (CNIO)) Researchers at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) have taken an important step forward by discovering that TERRAs play a decisive role in the assembly of telomeric heterochromatin by interacting with components of the Polycomb complex 2 (PRC), an important epigenetic regulator of gene expression.
