Kaiser nurses get raises, secure starting wages

Kaiser Permanente nurses in Northern and central California secured a new five-year contract that promises annual raises of 2 to 3 percent, a nurses ’ union representative said Monday. The contract did not include a wage discrepancy that had been proposed between new and current nurses at Kaiser. About 19,000 nurses and nurse practitioners in Northern and central California are covered under the new contract; 4,500 of them work in the Sacra mento area.
